Wondering how much it costs to rent a sailboat or catamaran in Greece? Here’s a simple breakdown of prices, factors that affect cost, and tips to save money on your sailing holiday.

Deck of professional sailboat or racing yacht during competition on sunny and windy summer day, moving fast through waves and water, with spinnaker up, and ropes tied around winch

What affects the price?

  1. Type of boat
    • Catamaran (more space & comfort = higher cost)
    • Monohull (classic style = more affordable)
    • Motor yacht (luxury = premium price)
  2. Season
    • Low season (April, May, October): more budget-friendly
    • High season (July–August): higher prices due to demand
  3. Trip duration
    • 2–3 days for short getaways
    • 7 days for full island-hopping experience
  4. With or without skipper
    • Bareboat (only if you have a license) = cheaper
    • Skippered = more relaxed, guided experience
  5. Fuel & port fees
    • Usually not included in the rental price
    • Depends on your route and boat type

Sample weekly prices:

Boat Type Low Season High Season
Monohull (3 cabins) €1,800–€2,500 €2,800–€4,000
Catamaran (4 cabins) €3,200–€5,000 €5,500–€8,000
Motor Yacht (luxury) €6,000+ €10,000+

📃 These prices are for the whole boat, not per person.

What does this mean for you?

If you’re 6–8 people, you could pay as little as €500–€900 per person/week, depending on your choices – similar to a good hotel stay on an island. And the boat? It’s all yours.

What’s usually included:

✔️ Boat & full equipment
✔️ Cabins, kitchen, bathroom
✔️ Itinerary planning help
✔️ Skipper (if requested)
✔️ Final cleaning

🚫 Not included: fuel, food, marina fees (depends on the package).

Tips to save money:

  • Book early for better deals
  • Travel outside peak season
  • Travel with friends and split the cost
