BOOKING TERMS

Cancellation policy

I am an independent planner, not a yacht owner. When you book, you sign a charter contract with the company that manages the yacht, and its cancellation terms are the ones that apply. I send them to you in writing before you pay anything.

Before you book

Asking for a proposal is free and does not commit you to anything. No boat is reserved and nothing is charged until you confirm the proposal and pay the deposit.

How payments usually work

Most charter companies in Greece ask for 50% of the charter fee when you book and the balance about 30 days before departure. The exact schedule is written in your charter contract.

Typical cancellation fees in Greece

Each company sets its own terms, but most Greek charter contracts follow a pattern like this. The fee is a share of the total charter fee and depends on when the company receives your cancellation in writing:

More than 90 days before departure

Refund of what you paid, minus an administration fee

90 to 60 days before

About 30% of the charter fee is kept

60 to 30 days before

About 50% of the charter fee is kept

Less than 30 days before, or no-show

The full charter fee is kept

Some companies are stricter and some more flexible. Your charter contract always takes priority over this page, and I go through it with you before you sign.

If the yacht is booked again

Many companies return most or all of the fee if they manage to charter the same yacht to someone else for your dates. If you have to cancel, tell me as early as possible so there is time for that.

Other services I arrange

Transfers, provisioning, activities or a hotel night before the trip follow the terms of each provider. Money already paid to a provider that cannot be recovered is not refundable. I always tell you which services are refundable before you confirm them.

Changing your dates

A change of dates depends on the company and on what is still available. It is often possible when you ask early, and it is never guaranteed.

Weather

Under Greek charter contracts, wind or bad weather is normally not a reason for a refund. Your skipper adapts the route and takes you to sheltered bays instead. If the port authority keeps boats in port for safety, you stay on board in the harbour and I help you plan the day ashore.

Travel insurance

I strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation. It is the simplest way to protect what you have paid if illness or something else unexpected stops you from travelling.

How to cancel

Send your cancellation in writing to info@puntovoyage.com with your name and travel dates. The date I receive your email is the date that counts. I pass it on to the charter company the same day and confirm in writing which terms apply to you.
