Why the Saronic Gulf
The Saronic is where I grew up. Short distances and protected water make it the calmest way to try a sailing holiday, and every stop has something different: an ancient theatre, a harbour town you walk in minutes, and the island of pistachios.
You don't need any sailing experience. I match you with the right yacht and skipper, and we shape the days around how you like to travel: slow mornings, long swims, or a bit of everything.
The route · 5 waypoints · ~110 nm
Five waypoints across seven days, so there's always time to slow down. Fall in love with a place? Stay another night. The route follows you, not the other way round.
STOP 01
Board in Athens and sail along the coast to the quiet harbour of Ancient Epidaurus.
The ancient theatre and its famous acoustics · Snorkel over the sunken city · Fresh fish at a seaside taverna
STOP 02
Cross the gulf westward and slip through the narrow channel into Poros town.
Sunset from the Clock Tower · The old harbour and its narrow lanes · Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi
STOP 03
A morning's sail along the Peloponnese coast to the car-free island of stone mansions. We arrive by boat, the way Hydra was meant to be seen.
The harbour front at sunset · Donkeys, not cars · A quiet night at anchor in Mandraki or Dokos
STOP 04
The longest leg of the week, north past the Methana peninsula to Aegina, the island where I grew up.
Temple of Aphaia · Swim at Moni island · Aegina's famous pistachios
STOP 05
A direct sail across the central Saronic Gulf, back to Athens.
A last swim at anchor · Past the Aegina lighthouse · An easy final leg
Alternatives we can add along the way, if you feel like it.
+ Optional
Pine forests, quiet coves and some of the clearest water in the gulf.
+ Optional
A small fishing village on Aegina, loved for its seafood tavernas.

FAQ
There is no fixed price. It depends on the yacht, the season, the size of your group and what you want included, such as skipper, provisioning or transfers. Tell me your plans and I send you an indicative estimate before you commit to anything.
Yes. The Saronic Gulf has calm water, short distances and safe anchorages, ideal for a first sailing holiday. A skipper takes care of the sailing.
Of course. The stops are a suggestion, not a schedule. Stay longer where you love it, skip what you don't, adapt to the weather, or shorten it to 4 days if you're short on time.
Yes. The short legs and sheltered bays make the Saronic one of the most family-friendly sailing areas in Greece.
