QUESTIONS
The questions guests ask me most before a sailing holiday in Greece. If yours is not here, just write to me.
I read your request myself and reply by email with two or three suitable boats, a route that fits your group and the season, and an indicative estimate. We adjust it together until it feels right, and only then do you book.
No. Every trip is planned around your dates, your group and what you want included, so the price is indicative and depends on the boat, the season and the extras you choose. You see clearly what is in the proposal before you commit. What affects the cost of a sailing holiday.
Most charter companies in Greece ask for 50% when you book and the balance about 30 days before departure. The exact schedule is in your charter contract, which you see before you pay.
Cancellation terms are set by the charter company in your contract. You can read how it usually works in my cancellation policy.
No. I strongly recommend travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and medical care.
Sometimes. One-way routes depend on the charter company and often carry an extra fee. Mention it in your request and I will tell you the options.
No. Your trip is planned with a professional local skipper who sails the boat. You can help with the ropes if you like, or simply enjoy the view.
My example trips are in the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades and the Ionian. Other areas of Greece are possible on request.
Yes. I plan around stops, not a fixed timetable. If you love a place, you stay longer. Your skipper also adapts the route to the wind on the day.
Your skipper moves to sheltered bays and changes the plan. Safety and comfort always come before the route. If the port authority keeps boats in port, you stay on board in the harbour and spend the day ashore.
Of course. Most days combine sailing, swimming at anchor and time in a village or harbour town for dinner.
Usually not in the charter price. I can arrange provisioning so the boat is stocked when you arrive, and on request a cook or host on board. Tell me about any allergies or dietary needs and I pass them on.
Yes, families are very welcome. Tell me the ages of the children when you ask for a proposal, so I can choose a suitable boat and make sure there are life jackets in the right sizes.
A soft bag instead of a hard suitcase, swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a light windproof jacket, soft-soled shoes and any medication you need. Bed linen and towels are usually on board, but I confirm it for your boat.
I speak English and Greek. Skippers in Greece usually speak English.
Some boats accept pets. Tell me in advance and I will look for one that does.
Yes. Send me your flight or ferry details and I can arrange the transfer to and from the marina.
